D Day Special with Chris Williams from St Just and St Mawes Heritage Group

Welcome to another episode of the Roseland Podcast

I’m Chloe, your host.

As this podcast goes live on D Day, and you all enjoyed the VE Day episode so much we’re all about D Day today.

If this is the first episode you’re listening to you can find and listen to the podcast at Roselandpodcast.com, on iTunes/Apple Podcast, on Spotify and all other podcast apps.

At Roselandpodcast.com you’ll also find links to any resources we mention.

Interview time!

The St Just and St Mawes Heritage Group have been focusing their researching might on how D Day and WW2 affected St Mawes, to find out more I had a chat with their Chairman Chris Williams.

INTERVIEW

If you’d like to know more about the exhibitions or the St Just and St Mawes Heritage Group here's the links:

We’ve got some great interviews coming up over the coming weeks - covering topics as diverse as guiding, diplomatic service, and homeschooling!

But Lindsey and I are still on the lookout for more people to interview - so if you’d like to come on the show and talk about pretty much anything at all - we’re interested.

The first step is to drop us an email to roselandpodcast@gmail.com with your ideas and any questions you’ve got.

Everything is recorded in advance - it doesn’t go out live.

You don’t even have to be willing to come on the show - if you have a recipe, a poem, a story - you can either record it at home and send us the mp3 file OR  just email it in and we can read it out for you.

I hope this will help us all feel a little less alone, and connected to our wonderful community.

If you want to make sure you hear the rest of the shows then bookmark roselandpodcast.com, and look for us on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or your usual podcast app and subscribe.

Be kind and stay safe.

About the Podcast

Roseland Podcast
Updates on services, art, culture, history, sport(!), to help us feel less isolated
An audio podcast to help the communities on the Roseland stay connected during these interesting times.

Hopefully including:
- updates on services (like takeaways and food deliveries) from local businesses
- chats with interesting local people about interesting things
- updates on what people are doing to help each other

I suspect it will evolve as the weeks roll by...

NOT a source of medical advice! or politics.

Aim is to help those living on the Roseland peninsula feel a little less isolated.
Roughly speaking that means St Mawes, St Just-in-Roseland, Gerrans & Portscatho, Philleigh & Treworthal, Ruan Lanihorne, Tregony, Veryan and Portloe and all the little villages and homes in-between.
