Brownies and Guides with Victoria Ling and some Poetry

Welcome to another episode of the Roseland Podcast

I’m Chloe, your host.

In today’s episode:

  • I’m chatting to Victoria Ling about Brownies and Guides
  • We’ve got a poem to end with

If this is the first episode you’re listening to you can find and listen to the podcast at Roselandpodcast.com, on iTunes/Apple Podcast, on Spotify and all other podcast apps.

At Roselandpodcast.com you’ll also find links to any resources we mention.

Interview time!

One of the many groups who aren’t able to meet at the moment are the local Brownies and Guides. This week I’m chatting with Victoria Ling about what they’d normally be up to and her life in guiding.

INTERVIEW

If you want to get involved you can find your local guiding unit here: https://www.girlguiding.org.uk/get-involved/find-your-nearest-unit/

If you run a group on the Roseland then we’d love to hear from you - just drop an email to roselandpodcast@gmail.com with what you’d like to chat about and we’ll get you booked in to record your interview!

Lindsey and I are always on the lookout for more people to interview - so if you’d like to come on the show and talk about pretty much anything at all - we’re interested.

The first step is to drop us an email to roselandpodcast@gmail.com with your ideas and any questions you’ve got.

Everything is recorded in advance - it doesn’t go out live.

You don’t even have to be willing to come on the show - if you have a recipe, a poem, a story - you can either record it at home and send us the mp3 file OR  just email it in and we can read it out for you.

To finish off this week’s episode here’s a poem recorded at home and sent in to us from Alan Durham:

POEM

Now you weren’t expecting that ending were you! I hope it’s given you a little chuckle.

I hope this will help us all feel a little less alone, and connected to our wonderful community.

If you want to make sure you hear the rest of the shows then bookmark roselandpodcast.com, and look for us on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or your usual podcast app and subscribe.

Be kind and stay safe.

About the Podcast

Roseland Podcast
Updates on services, art, culture, history, sport(!), to help us feel less isolated
An audio podcast to help the communities on the Roseland stay connected during these interesting times.

Hopefully including:
- updates on services (like takeaways and food deliveries) from local businesses
- chats with interesting local people about interesting things
- updates on what people are doing to help each other

I suspect it will evolve as the weeks roll by...

NOT a source of medical advice! or politics.

Aim is to help those living on the Roseland peninsula feel a little less isolated.
Roughly speaking that means St Mawes, St Just-in-Roseland, Gerrans & Portscatho, Philleigh & Treworthal, Ruan Lanihorne, Tregony, Veryan and Portloe and all the little villages and homes in-between.
